About
Pen fight is a classroom game, where it is played on the back benches of more or less every school, usually during a lesson and usually with one eye on the front of the room. Versions of the same idea turn up wherever there are desks and stationery: pencil fighting, in which two players take turns striking each other's pencil until one snaps, is the closest relative and is played widely outside the region. There is no governing body and no printed rulebook, so the game exists as a set of conventions passed sideways between classes. What follows is the version almost everybody agrees on.
