Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

BuiltList (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a directory for products, AI agents, and bots built by Sri Lankan founders and builders. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data when you use our website at builtlist.space (the “Service”). Payments and advertising are also covered by our Terms of Service.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly when you create an account or submit a product or agent:

  • Account information. Name, email address, and profile picture. If you sign in with Google, GitHub, or LinkedIn, we receive your public profile data (name, email, avatar) from that provider.
  • Product submissions. Product name, tagline, description, website or app store URLs, logo image, category, team size, city, and whether the product is bootstrapped.
  • Agent submissions. Agent name, tagline, description, logo, platform, category, pricing, setup guide, and optional website, demo, and GitHub URLs.
  • Votes. When you upvote a product, we record your user ID and the product ID.
  • Profile details. Public handle, bio, and social or website URLs if you add them.
  • Marketplace waitlist. If you join the marketplace waitlist before launch, we store your email and optional name, send a confirmation email via Resend, and may add you to a marketplace updates segment you can unsubscribe from.
  • Marketplace. When you list a product for sale, submit an expression of interest, or participate in a transfer, we store listing details, messages, offered prices, and checklist progress. If a seller accepts your interest, we share the seller's name and email with you so you can continue off-platform.
  • Payments. When you buy an ad or featured placement, our payment provider processes checkout details. We store order status, product type, and related listing IDs, not full card numbers.
  • Usage. We record listing and profile views, outbound clicks, and similar events so founders can see analytics in their dashboard.

3. How we use your information

  • Display your public profile, products, and agents on the Service.
  • Authenticate you and maintain your session.
  • Process and review product submissions.
  • Count and display upvotes.
  • Send essential account-related communications (e.g. email verification).
  • Process ad and featured-placement orders and review creatives.
  • Coordinate marketplace listings, expressions of interest, and asset transfers.
  • Email marketplace waitlist subscribers when we launch (if you opted in).
  • Share buyer and seller contact details when an expression of interest is accepted.
  • Show founders view and click counts for their listings and profiles.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their advertising. Your data is stored in our Supabase-hosted database. We use processors to run the Service: authentication and storage (Supabase), payments (Dodo Payments), transactional email (UnoSend), and marketplace waitlist email (Resend). Google, GitHub, or LinkedIn receive data only if you choose that sign-in. We may also share data when required by law or to protect our rights.

5. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies solely for authentication and session management (powered by Supabase Auth). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies.

6. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account from Edit profile, we delete your login, profile, products, agents, votes, and uploaded files. Ad orders on BuiltList are removed with your account. Our payment processor may keep checkout records as required for accounting or law.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Close your account from Dashboard → Edit profile, or contact us using the details below.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
